Privacy Policy

Effective August 5, 2026. What this website collects, why, and what we do with it.

Vaughn Home Inspection is a licensed home inspection company based in Pendleton, South Carolina. This policy explains what information this website collects, why we collect it, who it is shared with, and the choices you have.

We keep this deliberately short and specific. We do not sell your information, and we do not run visitor-tracking analytics on this site.

Information you give us

The only information we collect about you is information you choose to submit through one of our forms or send us directly by phone or email.

  • Contact form: Your name, email address, and message. This is emailed to us so we can reply; it is not saved to a website database. Your email address is used as the reply address on that message.
  • Inspection request form: Your name, email address, phone number, the property address, the service you are requesting, your preferred date or timeframe, and any notes you add. This is saved to our scheduling system so we can contact you and book the inspection.
  • Anti-abuse information: When you submit an inspection request, we record the IP address and browser user-agent string that sent it. This exists solely to identify spam and abuse, and it is not used for advertising or profiling.
  • Inspection clients: If you hire us, we create records connected to the job — the inspection report and photographs, invoices, and any documents you sign electronically. These are kept as ordinary business records.

How we use your information

We use the information you submit to respond to your message, schedule and perform inspections, deliver reports and invoices, keep required business and licensing records, and prevent spam or abuse of our forms.

We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not add you to marketing lists you did not ask to join.

Analytics and cookies

This website does not run Google Analytics or any comparable visitor-tracking analytics script. We do not set cookies to profile visitors or measure browsing behavior on the public pages of this site.

The staff area of the application uses a session cookie so inspectors can stay signed in. That cookie is strictly functional and is not present unless you log in.

We do review aggregate search performance data that Google Search Console provides about our own site, such as which search queries showed our pages. That data reaches us already aggregated and does not identify individual visitors.

Third-party services on this site

A few outside services load on our public pages. Each one is operated by that company under its own privacy policy, and we do not control what it collects.

  • Google AdSense: Some article pages display ads served by Google. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technology to serve and measure those ads. You can review and adjust what Google uses for ad personalization in your Google Ads settings.
  • Amazon Associates: Some articles link to products on Amazon using an affiliate tracking tag. If you buy through one of those links, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Amazon handles anything that happens once you land on its site.
  • OpenStreetMap: Our service-area map loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap servers, which receive the request needed to deliver those tiles.
  • Email and hosting providers: Form submissions and inspection documents travel through our email provider and our hosting infrastructure so we can receive and store them.

When we share information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

We share it only where it is necessary to do the work or to follow the law: with the service providers described above that operate our email, hosting, and scheduling systems; with people you ask us to include, such as your real estate agent or a party to your transaction; with a laboratory when a radon test requires analysis; and where we are legally required to, such as a valid legal request or a South Carolina licensing matter.

How long we keep it

Contact form emails stay in our mailbox as ordinary correspondence. Inspection requests, reports, invoices, and signed documents are retained as business records for as long as we may need them for tax, insurance, licensing, and liability purposes.

You may ask us to delete information we are not required to keep, and we will honor that request where we can.

Security

This site is served over HTTPS, and access to inspection records and client information is restricted to our own staff accounts. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send sensitive information such as financial account numbers or a Social Security number through our web forms.

Your choices

You can use the site without submitting anything — every form is optional. You can call us instead of using a form if you would rather not submit information online.

To ask what information we hold about you, request a correction, or request deletion, contact us using the details below and tell us what you need. We will respond as promptly as we reasonably can.

Children

This site is intended for adults arranging home inspection services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how this site handles information, we will update this page and revise the effective date at the top. Material changes will be reflected here rather than announced separately.
